Our Industrial 300 m KVM Extenders allow placement of an industrial monitor and USB touch screen, keyboard, mouse, and other devices up to 300 meters (~1,000′) away from the computer using a single shielded CATx cable (maximum distance depends on the resolution and cable type used, see Specs section above for details). For legacy applications, a VGA, PS2, and RS-232 serial extender is available. These extenders are also compatible with our digital cable converters when a digital signal is required.

Using this system, an economical non-industrial computer can be placed in a secure, climate-controlled environment, leaving only our rugged industrial workstations exposed to factory conditions. Removing computers from the factory floor also increases reliability and allows central location of all PCs, easing future upgrades.

Monitor-Mounted Extenders are fully NEMA 4/4X, IP65/IP66 rated (and 3rd-party certified) and suitable for full wash-down environments. With our Workstation Assembly Service, the extender can be integrated and tested with other workstation components at the factory for quick installation in the field.

Stand-Alone models can be simply placed behind a panel, or VESA-mounted to the back of a Panel Mount Monitor. All extenders include both a matched local and remote extender unit.

300 m USB KVM Extenders (KVM2-xx-USB models)

    • 200 m (650′) using shielded CAT5 Trunk cable
    • 250 m (820′) using shielded CAT5e Trunk cable
    • 300 m (~1,000′) using shielded CAT6 Trunk cable

  • Supported USB Protocols – full-speed USB 1.1 devices (or USB 2.0 and 3.0 devices that will run in USB 1.1 mode)
  • Video DDC Relay – allows the computer to query the monitor for automatic resolution selection
  • Image Adjustment – skew correction, video compensation, and brightness adjustments allow image correction based on distance and cable type
  • Mirrored Local Display – additional VGA port on local unit allows connection of mirrored local display
  • Audio Extension – 2 channel 16 bit Audio @ 44.1 kHz (Stand-Alone models only)
  • Electrical Requirements – extenders should not be used to link between two different buildings that do not share a common earth ground. Linking between buildings can damage the extender.
