Product Description

The KVM2 Extender series allows placement of an industrial monitor or touch screen, keyboard, mouse, and other devices up to 300 m (1000') away from the computer or server using a single shielded CATx cable.

A USB version connects to the host PC with a single USB plug, and features 4 remote USB ports for transparent extension of any full-speed USB 1.1 device, or any USB 2.0 device that will run in USB 1.1 mode.  With a Hope Industrial Touch Screen and Keyboard/Mouse in use, this leaves 2 free remote USB ports for use with other peripherals.

The PS2/Serial version includes 2 remote PS2 ports for keyboard/mouse, along with an RS-232 port for use with a serial touch screen or other serial device.

All versions feature VGA connections for video extension.

Using this system, an economical non-industrial computer can be placed in a secure, climate-controlled environment leaving only our rugged industrial touch screen or display exposed to tough factory conditions. Removing computers from the factory floor also increases reliability and eases future upgrades.

Both KVM Extender models are available in three mounting configurations:

  1. Stand-Alone KVM Extender - for use with Panel Mount displays. Unit can be mounted behind the panel near the monitor, or to the rear of Panel Mount Monitors using our Accessory Mounting Bracket. NEMA 1 rated.
  2. Rear-Mount KVM Extender - for use with Hope Industrial's Universal Mount displays. Extender is mounted in a modular NEMA 4/4X/12 enclosure which is attached to the rear of the display. All cables are routed through the KVM Extender and hidden from sight. Rear-Mount models have been UL Rated for Class I, II, III, Division 2 Hazardous Locations when used with Universal Mount Monitors.
  3. Pedestal-Mount KVM Extender - for use with Hope Industrial's pedestal mount solutions. KVM Extender is inserted into the pedestal where it is hidden and protected to the NEMA rating of the mount itself.
